Strathclair, Manitoba

Pig in mud again, Back into farming and Machinery . Nothing better to talk about . look at and take pictures .

Two big days from Invermere  on the other side of the Rockies through the prairie lands of Alberta, Saskatchewan to Manitoba .

Crops . Wheat ,Canola and Barley with some peas and lentils not to bad around Calgary but soon deteriate to very light in Saskatchewan . they will get a lot of dirt in the headers this year, Still a lot of water around from the very wet year they had last year with a lot of road reconstruction going on . The water must have been across many roads last summer ,

A lot better and as good as we have seen anywhere on the trip here and Jason is cutting Lucerne hay and we had half inch last night so will  keep things going here .

Went to a collectors clearing sale yesterday. A big one with buyers from as far as England , New Zealand and the States.

Two bros had been restoring and collecting old tractors and stationary engines for many years and decided to quit them .

It was good to get valuations on all the stuff we have and these were all running and perfectly restored .

The tractors and earthmoving stuff and the cars sold pretty well but they would have been disappointed with the small engines they sold for 2 or 300Dollars and it would have cost them a lot more than that just to paint them and present them in the condition they were .

The old tractors sold better , An old Massey 25 which came from Jasons family sold for over 7k

they had couple of w 30 Mcormick Deering  as well as wd  40,s and a d 9 beati9fully restored .

Went to a 60th Birthday party last night of a lady (Beth)who we met last we visited here in 96 so we met many folk . The main food was Bison and Beef cooked in a pit and was delicious. It was on a farm in a an excellent garden setting and many families turned up in their fifth wheelors  to make a weekend of it .

Family very busy preparing for their Town fair on tuesday and Emma Jean (Jason,s Daughter0 is well into Horses but their Son Zac is more my type , He likes his Horses under the Bonnet,

This family is just about self supporting with their vegetables . meat and eggs .

We are going toDSC_0071 DSC_0070 DSC_0061 DSC_0055 DSC_0050 DSC_0046 find it hard to move on and this family and district  is so hospitable .
