Grand Canyon is Grand

There are some spots in this world that are simply iconic and this place is one of them .

I was here in 77 on a farm Study tour and always said I would like to bring Alison here and finally it has happened and she is not disappointed . The vastness is still breathtaking , average a mile deep from 5 to 18 wide and 277 miles long it is a magnet for all with over 5 mill visitors a year now it is one of the must see places and you will never forget it.

THe thing that has changed is the sleepy little Grand Canyon Village of the 70,s has grown into a huge resort center.

From my research this part of the Canyon , The South rim is the most popular although there are other areas the North Rim and the Skyway near Vegus are very popular too . We may do the skyway tomorrow although I want to see the Hoover Dam. and go over the new bridge on our way north.
